State Sanctioned “In God We Trust” revisited

Posted: March 1, 2010 in Life, the Universe and All that Jazz

A bit back, and then some, I posted about Indiana’s license plates and how they give you two “standard” alternates; and what I thought about their system.

Well, it looks like someone decided to have fun with their plate.

He had to fight for the right to get it.

I’ll be looking for his car the next time I’m in Indy.

Thanks It was actually alot of fun fighting for it. I was a week away from being on CNN. heh :) I really think the story getting to The Friendly Atheist and spread around like that helped push everything to a successful resolution quicker than it would have been just on my own fighting it.

That’s AWESOME!! When we purchased our newest car I was handed the “In God We Trust” plate (Noblesville, IN) and I said I didn’t want it. I was told they were out of the other and I HAD to take it. I got loud, talked to a supervisor and almost left w/o it. I ended up leaving w/the dam thing, but in hind-sight I wish I would have had made a bigger deal out of it than I did. My son (10yrs old) told me he was proud of me even if I had to put the darn thing on. I was told if I put a sticker on it to cover the “offensive to me” part I could be pulled over. :(
